Jeffrey L. Rotman

World renowned underwater photographer Jeffrey L. Rotman has worked over three decades exploring and documenting the captivating and ever-changing mysteries found deep within the recesses of the planet's oceans. As a meticulous student of natural history Jeff has captured, through his lens, marine environments seldom seen by the world at large. Macrophotography is his true speciality. The striking details of marine creatures immortalized in his photographs can be compared with the beauty of abstract painting, yet he is unafraid to depict the drama of close encounters with various species of shark or the increasing impact imposed upon marine life by indiscriminate human practices. Jeff has not only succeeded in exalting the beauty of the natural world, but he has also made it his mission to expose the harsh realities and conditions facing marine life today by emphasizing the need for it's conservation. The excitement and wonder generated by Jeff's provocative interaction beneath the ocean's surface continues to justify his rank as one of the world's premiere underwater photographers which in turn has enabled him to contribute a wealth of exotic imagery to the current discourse concerning the evolution of the natural world.

Highly determined and relentless in his pursuit of perfection Jeff has traveled from Japan to the Galapagos Islands, from Borneo to Australia, from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, from Mexico to British Columbia, from the Atlantic coast of the United States to the Red Sea. He has published numerous books including 8 for children and his articles appear regularly in the leading international magazines, Life, Time, The Smithsonian, New York Times Magazine, Geo, Stern and Le Figaro Magazine to name but a few.
